Airwork Helicopters is widely regarded as one of the best helicopter pilot training facilities in Australia. We are conveniently located at Caboolture Airport just a short 30 minute drive North of the Brisbane CBD on the M1 (take exit 152 to Bribie Island), or about 50 minutes by train. Caboolture airfield is an ideal location for your pilot training. The flight training school is outside of controlled airspace and situated in a training area which means no wasted time waiting for air traffic clearances, no transiting to flight training areas and more savings for you. The weather is nearly perfect for year round helicopter pilot training and it is rare that your training would be delayed by bad weather. Our team of flying instructors have an enormous amount of helicopter flying experience from diverse backgrounds which means you will get the best tuition from relaxed, patient and highly competent instructors.

We have a large fleet of impeccably maintained helicopters that are serviced by our own engineering and maintenance team so you will always have a helicopter available for your flying lesson. We are a Registered Training Organisation with the Queensland Government (National Provider No 30839) and we are a member of the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) Number 02392G. We offer initial flight training in both the Robinson R22 and the Bell 47. Both are excellent training helicopters with their own unique features. The R22 is lighter and twitchier which makes it a little more difficult to fly however it has easier control management, whereas the B47 is more solid and stable, it is much better for auto-rotations, however requires more control co-ordination.

Although the B47 has a larger engine and uses more fuel than the R22 we charge the same training rate for both types.
